Primary Structural Members

PHX Rigid Frame

Steel frames consist of columns and double-sloped beams, known as rafters, which support the roof of the building. This design creates a stable structure with runners that securely hold the sheeting to form a complete building enclosure.
The PHX rigid frame features a clear-span structure, highlighted by tapered columns and rafters, including tapered haunches for added stability. This system is perfect for customers seeking an economical solution with column-free spaces, unmatched flexibility in plant layout along with the ability to achieve a clear span of up to 120 meters.

PHX Continuous Beam

This system is based on the rigid frame concept with the addition of intermediate support columns which allows larger building width and economical designs. This system typically has a lower cost per square feet of space and offers an interior column spacing of 66 ft or more. This system can be installed in any width or eave height and is ideal for larger production or storage units.

PHX Unibeam

A Unibeam Frame consists of a single gable clear span with straight hot-rolled sections for the columns and built-up sections for the rafters. It is designed following AISC Type-II construction standards.

PHX Lean-To

This structure features a single column and one sloping rafter. One end of the rafter is supported by an adjacent building, while the other end is supported by a column. Designed with a single slope or pitch, this frame relies on the adjacent building for additional support.
It offers an open and unobstructed interior space, including peaked, single-slope, and lean-to roof designs, accommodating spans of up to 30 meters.

PHX Deck Frame

The deck sheet components are provided for multi-storey buildings. This type of frame is typically designed to offer mezzanine floors and membrane roof applications and is aesthetically superior. The standard panel is used as a form (shuttering) on mezzanine floors. The deck frame can also be used as a deck panel over which concrete is poured. This type of structure also enhances the speed and economy of steel floor construction.

End-Wall Posts

End-wall posts are vertical structural elements placed at the ends of the building, forming part of the end wall framing system. These posts provide support for the walls, which typically include doors, windows, and other openings, and contribute to the overall stability of the structure by helping with load support, weather and wind resistance.

Rafters

We manufacture solid web and open web rafters for our PEBs. Rafters are the primary structural components of the roof system. They are horizontal or sloped beams that span across the width of the building, forming part of the main frame. The rafters support the roof covering and transfer theroof loads, such as the weight of the roof itself, wind, and other environmental forces, to the columns or side walls of the building.

Secondary Structural Members

Purlins and Girts

Purlins and girts are essential structural components positioned beneath the roof and wall running along the perimeter of pre-engineered buildings (PEBs), providing critical support for the roof sheets and wall cladding. Phenix offers two types of purlins and girts: (i) PHX-Zees and (ii) PHX-Cees, with depths ranging from 165 to 300 mm and thicknesses ranging from 1.5 to 3.15 mm.A purlin is a cold-formed horizontal secondary member in the roof structure that overlaps the outer rafter flange, forming a continuous support system. It provides essential support for roof panels, which are further stabilized by the building's primary structural framework.Similarly, a girt is a cold-formed secondary member that overlaps the outer column flange, creating a continuous support member for wall panels. Purlins and girts play a crucial role in enhancing the building's structural integrity, offering lateral stability and ensuring the strength and performance of pre-engineered buildings (PEBs).

Eave Struts

Their primary function is to support the gutters while also serving as the junction between the roof and wall cladding. Acting as the final purlin, this component plays a critical role in the structural system by effectively transferring longitudinal loads from the roof to the wall, ensuring stability and durability.

Open Web Joists

This component primarily supports the gutters and serves as the connection point between the roof and wall cladding. As the final purlin, it plays an essential role in the structural framework by efficiently distributing longitudinal loads from the roof to the wall, enhancing the building's stability, strength, and overall performance.

Cable / Angle / Rod Bracing Tube

The bracing system in pre-engineered buildings is a critical component that ensures the longitudinal stability of the structure by effectively transmitting forces to the foundation. This system includes roof bracing and wall bracing, working together to maintain structural integrity. Roof bracing channels longitudinal forces from the roof to the wall bracing, which then transfers these forces to the foundation through the columns, ensuring a strong and stable building framework.

Roof & Wall Sheeting

Purlins and Girts

Phenix's Pre-painted Galvalume (alu-zinc) sheeting features a multi-layer coating designed for enhanced durability in varying weather conditions and improved aesthetics. These claddings are suitable for roofing and wall coverings (sheeting) that encase the main steel frame, and are available with or without insulation. Sandwich panels consist of an exterior metal skin, a polyurethane core, and an inner metal skin. The core thickness options are 35, 50, 75, and 100 mm, with a polyurethane density of 35-40 kg/m³.

Additional Components

Fascias and Canopies

Fascia are enhancements added to the exterior of a building to elevate its visual appeal. These features can take the form of decorative trims or panels extending outward from the face of a wall.A canopy is an overhanging structure or roof projection designed to provide shelter for framed openings on side walls or end walls. Phenix offers:Fascias ranging from 1.2 meters to 1.8 meters in height

Canopies ranging from 0.3 meters to 10 meters in width.

Mezzanines

Mezzanines are intermediate floors positioned between the main levels of a building. These structures typically comprise mezzanine columns, beams, and joists, which together support the floor or deck panels. Concrete is then poured over the deck panels to create a durable and stable surface.Mezzanine can be customized to any size:
Recommended 3 to 9 m (generally a 6 m x 6 m grid for economy)

Crane beams

Crane beams are essential structural components designed to support crane gliders. Phenix specializes in the precise detailing and supply of crane beams, capable of supporting cranes with capacities exceeding 300 MT.

Standing Seam Roofing system (SSR) INTERLOCK 360™

Phenix offers the INTERLOCK 360™ roofing system, a specialized screw less and leakproof solution designed for superior weather protection. Featuring interlocking panels with a 360° mechanical seam, this system ensures a fully sealed roof that delivers exceptional weather-tightness. A seamed ridge cap at the roof apex further enhances weatherproofing and rigidity. The INTERLOCK 360™ system includes a 3-inch high rib, providing excellent sectional strength and facilitating faster water drainage. Additionally, the system is equipped with a movable clip, allowing the roof to expand and contract freely in response to thermal changes, preserving its integrity across varying temperatures.

Accessories

We externally procure bought out parts which are utilized in PEBs including fasteners, TUF-dome lite, sliding doors, mastic doors, walk-away doors, insulation, glazing windows, roof curbs, fixed ventilators, roof jack, turbo vents, roll-up doors and ridge vent sealants. Phenix Construction Technologies is a trusted name in offering total envelope solutions for pre-engineered buildings and structural steel projects.
